We are launching our first ever teen summer camps for Lydia Place families! This July, our Mental Health Team will be running two camps – an animal camp and a Dungeons and Dragons camp.
Help Give Lydia Place Teens a Summer Camp Experience
Many of the families we work with struggle with social isolation, and summer can be an especially tricky time for teens. The routine of school is gone and it can be extra hard to connect with friends and community. Teen summer camps in Whatcom County are limited and, when combined with other barriers, this experience moves out of reach for many low-income families.
We’ve put together two camps teens are excited to be a part of in a gorgeous location. It is free for our families, transportation will be provided, and lunches are on us. Whether its spending time with other teens who love animals or love DnD-style live action role playing, our aim is to increase connection with each other, have fun, and to make sure that they know that they deserve incredible experiences like camp – that they are held and loved by larger community.
We would love your support! Here is what your gift could provide:
$10 – Buys one lunch for one teen
$20 – Pays for one gas card so a family can drive from North Whatcom County to the farm
$50 – Buys all the dice sets needed to get each DnD camper rolling!
$100 – Covers all of the supplies we will need to complete a farm service project
$300 – Buys all snacks needed for the week
$500 – Pays for one teen for the entire week
Many thanks to our partner, Mountain Meets Farm, for making these camps possible!
